Is a used DeWalt planer with a shelix head worth $350?

I found a listing for a used DeWalt 735 planer with a shelix head for $350 on Facebook Marketplace. I've never used a planer before and I'm unsure how often I'd actually use it. I've heard great things about this model, especially with the upgraded blades. Should I be jumping on this deal or is it too good to be true?

That price for a used one does raise some red flags. A new shelix head alone goes for about $350, so be cautious—it might be a scam.

Sounds suspiciously cheap. Sometimes folks want to sell things quickly and they don’t know their value, but usually if it seems too good to be true, it is. I'd suggest checking it out just in case, but only pay cash when you meet up to get it.

Definitely check it out in person! Maybe take your own board to plane—make sure it works before buying.
