Is a Whole House Humidifier Worth It for a Dry Climate?

I'm moving into a new construction home in Las Vegas, and I'm thinking about installing a whole home humidifier. Does anyone have experience with this? What maintenance should I expect? Also, are there any risks to my home, like water damage I should be aware of?

I have a whole home humidifier that I really like. It has a dial to adjust humidity based on the outdoor temperature, which is crucial. I made the mistake of setting it too high in winter, and my filter got moldy, which I had to replace. Overall, it massively helped with the dryness and kept my skin feeling better.

Yeah, adjusting it according to the weather is key! It can make a huge difference in your comfort.

One of my father-in-law's friends claims his energy bills shot up about 50% with his system. Seems a bit extreme, but older folks tend to notice stuff like that. Just something to keep in mind as you weigh your options!
