I have a 40-year-old house that needs aluminum siding on the bottom third. I've been hearing from various people that aluminum siding is no longer manufactured, but I feel there must be a solution to restore this part of my home. I really prefer not to go for vinyl or fiber cement, especially as the cost for new windows and that type of siding adds up to around $30,000.

Don’t overlook steel siding as an alternative! It has a similar look to aluminum and can be really durable. I have steel siding that’s about 80 years old, and even after painting it, it looks brand new. It's held up well against hail, which is a big plus!
I’d also suggest reaching out to a siding company. They can often create custom aluminum siding for you, though keep in mind they may try to upsell you on pre-made options too, which could be around the same price. It doesn’t hurt to explore all your options!
Actually, aluminum siding is still available! I bought some last year from Menards, and I've heard you can even special order it through siding companies if necessary. If you're looking for specifics, check local suppliers, they might have what you need or can guide you on custom options.
