I've had an awful gardening season this year due to pests and drought. The only crops that seem to be thriving are my root vegetables. Has anyone else faced similar challenges with their gardens in 2023?

It’s been a mixed bag for me. Some crops did great while others flopped. Peppers and green beans are doing fantastic, but my zucchini and tomatoes have been a huge letdown. I think I have the worst luck with tomatoes! Maybe we can all learn from our experiences and hope next year is better!
Yeah, it’s a rollercoaster every year! I lost most of my tomatoes to pests, but I’m hoping for a good fall harvest.
I actually had a pretty good year! Here at the Jersey Shore, we had enough rain and decent weather to boost my harvest. My tomatoes and peppers are coming in nicely, though I faced some setbacks with the cold spring. Hopefully, next year we can all have better luck!
It's good to hear someone had a successful garden! My peppers are struggling, but I’m holding out hope for my late-season crops.
Yeah, my harvest was a disaster too! The extended cold spring in NY really messed things up, followed by a brutal heat wave. It’s frustrating how everything got stunted. My tomato plants are barely hanging on, and a lot of my fruit has been tasteless this year. The only survivors in my garden seem to be basil, cucumbers, and eggplants. Next year I might try disease-resistant tomato hybrids!
I totally get it! Most of my tomatoes are just struggling too. Finally starting to ripen, but it's been a rough road for them.
I feel your pain! My cucumbers keep getting wiped out by bacterial wilt. It's such a hassle, I can’t catch a break with them.

Definitely! Gardening is so unpredictable. I’ve had mixed results too, but I guess that's part of the journey.
