Is Bright White a Bad Choice for My Townhouse?

I've gotten some advice about painting my townhouse before selling it. Many folks seem to think warm colors aren't appealing, and my painter suggests going with bright white. However, I've heard mixed opinions online, with some saying off-white is better. The room in question doesn't have great lighting, especially in the colder months, and there are no overhead lights. What color do you all recommend? Also, just to mention, I'm planning to replace the carpet too.

I’d definitely recommend an off-white. Bright white tends to absorb the room colors and can clash if you don’t have great lighting. Off-white keeps it warm and inviting without washing out the space.

Go for a soft white instead of super bright. You want to avoid that stark, cold look, especially in a dimly lit room. A warm soft white can make your space feel cozier.

Sherwin Williams has a great option called Pure White. It’s a clean warm white that doesn't lean too cool, which is key since colder whites can look uninviting without enough natural light.
