Is Chip Drop a Good Option for Free Mulch in Denver?

I recently learned about the Chip Drop service that provides free wood chips and mulch, and I'm curious if anyone has actually used it. I'm located outside of Denver and I've been pretty particular about the types of wood chips and mulch I use. I'm worried about what might be included in the delivery. After all, free options aren't always the best. Would love to hear your experiences and any recommendations!

I found Chip Drop to be really useful! I got a load of pine chips complete with some pine cones, and I've used them for a walking path and as a light topping around my roses and trees. It worked well for me, just depends on what you get.

Our experience with Chip Drop was fantastic! We got way more chips than we anticipated, but it was a great deal since buying that much would have cost a fortune. We ended up sharing with neighbors too, which felt great! Definitely worth it for the size of our garden.

Chip Drop itself isn’t what you should be worried about; it’s more about the quality of the chips from the service that delivers them. It’s a bit like asking if Craigslist is trustworthy; it depends on the person or company posting the listing. You might end up with some great chips or some not-so-great ones, so keep an eye on who’s dropping them off.
