Is DeWalt Engaging in Anti-Consumer Practices Like Stanley?

I recently heard some concerning news about a major red tool brand allegedly pulling some anti-consumer stunts. This got me wondering if DeWalt, which is owned by Stanley Black and Decker, is doing anything similar. Has anyone come across any shady practices involving DeWalt tools?

DeWalt actually falls under the Stanley Black and Decker umbrella, so they’re linked in a sense. I’ve noticed they seem to market their tools as 20V, but in reality, it's just their 18V lineup that they’re trying to rebrand. Seems a bit misleading, right?

I've heard mixed things too. Some folks pointed out that their battery cells might not always be balanced properly when charging. I had a warranty issue once; got a couple of dead batteries and they sent replacements pretty fast without needing the old ones back. Still, it makes you wonder about their quality control!

Honestly, it seems like most companies have some sketchy tactics. It's all part of capitalism, you know? DeWalt is bound to do something if they want to keep up in the competitive tool market.
