I came up with a potentially wild idea: instead of just inserting poles into the ground, why not drill holes into the concrete curb and insert the poles there? Your idea has some merit! I used to work with the National Park Service, where we’d insert pipes into the shoulder for snow poles to guide plows. This method allowed us to remove the poles after winter while keeping the pipes for future use. So, it sounds similar to what you're proposing!
I think you might want to reconsider drilling into the concrete. Water and ice could seep in and lead to cracks over time, which isn’t great for the driveway. Stick to traditional methods, just drive those poles in if you can!
