Hey everyone! I'm working on renovating my Formica kitchen countertop, and so far I've painted it with three coats of flat paint. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to top it off with epoxy spray paint, or if there's a better option I should consider? Any advice would be appreciated!

I’d be cautious. If the surface wasn't etched or primed with a bonding agent, the epoxy might not bond properly. It's generally recommended to prep your countertop well before applying any topcoat like epoxy to avoid scratches and peeling later on.
It's key to know what kind of flat paint you used, and how you prepared the surface before painting. Just painting it might not be the best long-term solution. If you didn’t prep it right, the epoxy spray might not stick well and could scratch easily. I’d recommend checking for proper surface preparation and consulting a paint expert if you're unsure.
I used flat white paint without any special primer or prep work. Should I look into using polyurethane instead?

Got it! I definitely didn’t etch or use a bonding primer before painting. Seems like I need to rethink my approach.
