I've been learning about veggie gardening from a YouTube channel that promotes various products, and I noticed their fertilizers are incredibly pricey. For instance, a 4 lbs bag of 4-4-4 fertilizer costs $75! Meanwhile, I found a 4-5-4 option from Pennington for just $18 at a big box store. Is there really a significant difference in quality between these local, high-priced options and the more affordable ones from larger retailers? Or is it just more profitable to sell fertilizer on a larger scale?

That’s just insane! But you might find that some of those expensive brands do have extra micronutrients, which could be beneficial. But honestly, I pay around $38 for a 50lb bag of 15-15-15 at my local supply, and it works just fine for me. Gardening definitely doesn't have to break the bank!
Honestly, that price is pretty outrageous. It does feel like you're getting robbed! I'm new to all this too, and it makes me wonder what justifies such a high price. At the end of the day, it seems like buying in bulk at big chains is the way to go for sure.
Yeah, that's a ridiculous markup! I thought my local options were steep. Keep in mind that prices can vary a lot depending on your area. Not every local brand is going to be top-notch, and what's best really depends on local availability.
