I recently bought some Jerusalem Artichoke tubers and I'm a little worried about how invasive they might be. I want to plant them in a designated area away from my garden but I've heard they can take over. I'm considering mowing around the area to control their spread. Am I going overboard with my concerns?

Honestly, they're even more aggressive than mint in some cases! Once they take root, they can spread rapidly, and I've seen them grow tall enough to disrupt garden walkways. After trying to manage them last year by digging out over 20 gallons of tubers, they still came back strong. It’s tough! I’ve fed the leaves to my rabbits, but I’m worried once they’re gone, the Jerusalem Artichokes will be a real problem for me.

Wow, that sounds intense! I’ve only grown mine in containers, and the bunnies love them. I’m definitely not putting them in the ground now knowing this!
