Is Installing Artificial Grass in My Basement a Good Idea?

I'm considering putting down around 328 sq/ft of artificial grass in my basement as a play area for my kids. Has anyone done this before? What should I know about maintenance and safety?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. Synthetic grass can really trap dirt and grime, and cleaning it could become a hassle. Have you thought about other flooring options? You might want to consider something easier to maintain like rubber tiles or indoor carpet instead.

You might run into some challenges with cleaning it. It's great for outdoor use, but indoors could be tough. If you want to go ahead, maybe use a big piece like a rug that you can roll up and take outside when it needs a wash. You're right that you can vacuum it, especially with certain pile lengths.

Before you dive in, I've heard that synthetic grass can be potentially carcinogenic, especially the infill materials used outdoors. If you’re set on it, just look for options that don't use any infill for indoor use and check the materials carefully. But honestly, the idea of indoor artificial turf is a bit concerning for me.
