Is it a good idea to use Roundup before laying sod on leveled soil?

Hey everyone! I could really use some advice here. I recently had my lawn leveled, and they took off about 1.5 to 2 inches of the old grass and dirt because it was overrun with weeds and crabgrass. Now, I'm wondering if I should spray Roundup on the newly leveled dirt before they lay the sod. If that's a good idea, I'd make sure they wait a week before putting the sod down. What do you think?

It's not a good plan to spray Roundup on freshly leveled soil. Roundup needs to be absorbed through the leaves of plants to work, so without any foliage to target, it won't be effective. Plus, doing it right before laying sod could potentially harm the new grass you're trying to establish.

I agree with WeedWarrior99. If there are no weeds or grass left to absorb the Roundup, it’s pretty pointless. You might want to just proceed with laying the sod and keep an eye on any weeds that pop up afterwards.
