Is it a good idea to water plants with Epsom salt occasionally?

I've heard that using Epsom salt can benefit my plants, and I'm curious if this is true. Can someone explain how it works and if it can be mixed with my regular fertilizer to make things easier?

Epsom salts provide magnesium and sulfur, which can be great for plants, but remember to use them in moderation—no more than 1 teaspoon per gallon of water. It’s best to alternate Epsom salt applications with your regular fertilizer to prevent nutrient lockout or toxicity issues.
