Is it feasible to use underlayment and roll-out vinyl floors for a couple of years in a leased space?

I'm renting a 50'x40' space mainly for myself, with some folding tables and occasional visitors. The concrete flooring is in terrible shape, and I'm trying to figure out if using underlayment and roll-out vinyl floors will work for covering it up for the next two years. I really don't want to put in the effort to paint or epoxy the floors, especially since I'll be moving out eventually. Any thoughts or advice?

Are you referring to vinyl sheet flooring or luxury vinyl plank (LVP)? If it's sheet vinyl, you need to make sure the concrete is really clean, or small bits can poke through. Using double-sided tape on the edges can help secure it down.

Honestly, if you're not too concerned, it might be easier to just paint the concrete. A basic concrete paint would require less work and then you can do touch-ups if needed. I’ve cleaned concrete with a carpet cleaner before, and it worked well. For a space like yours, that setup lasted about three years with just a few touch-ups.

Yes, using commercial vinyl would definitely work for your needs. Just keep in mind that roll-out vinyl comes in rolls that are usually smaller than the area you're covering, which could leave seams. If foot traffic is light, it's probably not going to be an issue, but just something to consider.
