I read in the manual that it's recommended to have breakers between each string and the inverter input for my EG4 18kPV setup. However, I'm unsure if it's really necessary, especially since each solar panel has Tigo TS4-A-O for rapid shutdown features. Can someone clarify this for me?

You can skip the breakers generally, but adding a DC disconnect outside is a smart move for extra safety. That way, you can cut off power easily if needed.
It really depends on your setup. If you have more than two parallel strings combined, you definitely need a breaker or fuse for each one to prevent overloads and potential fire hazards. Plus, having a PV shut-off switch helps manage input power safely too.
Usually, you don't need breakers, but it's crucial to have a way to shut off the panels safely. Many people opt for disconnect switches instead of breakers, which can work just fine.
