Is It Normal for Floors in an Old House to Feel Uneven?

I recently remodeled my 1925 home and installed new flooring on the main level. It looks fantastic overall, but I've noticed some areas feel a bit uneven. How serious is this issue? For the most part, the house seems level, but there are just a few spots that are concerning. What should I do?

A lot of older homes have their quirks, and uneven floors can be one of them. A short level could make it seem worse, so try using a longer level to get a true idea of the floor’s condition. Keep in mind, unless the remodel included framing work or leveling compound under the new floor (which can help), the new flooring will likely conform to the original subfloor. Sounds like you're dealing with a typical issue for an older house!

Thanks for the tip! I'll grab a longer level. They did add some compound to level it out, but since they're using the old subfloors, I guess that explains the unevenness.
