Is It Normal to Smell Burning Plastic After Using a Zero Clearance Insert?

Hey everyone! I recently installed a dado stack on my SawStop for the first time and raised the blades into a brand new zero clearance insert. Now my garage smells like burnt plastic! Is that normal? Did I raise the blade too slowly or something?

Yeah, that smell can definitely happen! The blade spins super fast, like 36,000 RPM, and it can melt a bit of the plastic insert. It’s pretty common to have that plastic smell in the air when using it. Just take it slow next time and make sure everything's secure.
