Is it okay to help my neighbor with their overgrown yard?

Hey everyone! So, I moved into my house about 18 months ago and had my yard landscaped about 10 months back. The problem is, my neighbors, who inherited their parent's house, have a yard that has become really overgrown with weeds and clover. They don't appear very often, and I'm wondering if it would be too forward of me to offer to mow their lawn or trim some weeds along the low fence we share. Am I being petty for even considering this?

I say go for it! Helping out like that can really make a difference, especially if the new owners are dealing with a lot. Just make sure to ask them first; they might have plans for the yard that you’re unaware of. Also, keep in mind that some people actually like having clover because it’s low-maintenance and attracts pollinators!

Honestly, if they’re hardly ever around, I doubt they’d even notice. Offering to help out could be seen as a nice gesture. Just be prepared in case they’re a bit uptight about it, but most likely, they’ll appreciate it!

Why not give it a shot? The worst they can say is no, and you might even end up getting a little cash for maintaining it regularly! Plus, it’d be good to tackle those weeds before they spread into your yard.

Definitely don’t hesitate to ask! If they accept your offer, that’s great! Just a heads up, though: if you do end up mowing their lawn, make sure to clean your mower blades afterward so you don’t accidentally spread their weeds into your own yard!
