Is It Okay to Leave a Can of Paint Outside for a Week?

Hey folks! I'm trying to tackle painting my porch in sections since I have limited time and the weather has been unpredictable. My plan is to sand and paint a bit at a time, taking perhaps a week or two to finish the job. I'm wondering, can I leave a gallon of paint outside on my porch for that long and still have it be usable? Also, what's the best way to store it outside? Would putting the paint can in a 5-gallon bucket help? Thanks for your insights!

Honestly, if you seal the can well, it should hold up just fine! I've left paint outside before, and as long as it's sealed, it doesn't dry out quickly.

If you're concerned, you can always bring it inside when you're finished for the day. Paint cans often sit in stores for much longer than that, so as long as you have a good seal on the can, it should be okay outside.

As long as you close the lid tightly, your paint should be fine. It might even last a couple of weeks without issue. Just make sure it doesn't freeze because that could ruin it.
