Is it okay to paint my exterior door while it’s raining?

Hey everyone! I'm all set to paint my exterior door, but unfortunately, it's raining today. The good news is that I have a security door with glass, so I won't be taking the door off; I'll be painting it while it's still in place. Do you think it's safe to proceed with this? The weather forecast says it's going to rain all weekend, and I have to work starting Tuesday, so I'm a bit pressed for time. Thanks for any guidance!

Enjoy painting! Just remember, this is pretty much like painting an indoor wall on a rainy day. The high humidity might slow down the drying process, so crack a window and let some air circulate. As long as the paint isn't directly hit by rain, you should have no problems!

Go for it! Just make sure to vent the room by opening a window or using a fan if the fumes are too strong. It'll dry enough by the end of the day, and you should be able to close the door tonight.

It's perfectly fine to paint your door! Just keep in mind to remove the weather stripping for a couple of days after painting so the door can close and lock properly. It might take a little longer to dry due to the humidity, but as long as the paint isn't exposed directly to rain, you should be good!

Good tip! I've learned that the hard way myself.
