Is It Okay to Trim My Neighbor’s Bush Growing Into My Walkway?

I live in a townhouse and I've noticed that my neighbor's bush is growing over the sidewalk into the shared walkway. I'm trying to keep my side looking neat and tidy, but the bush is a bit overgrown. Am I allowed to trim it, or should I talk to her first?

Legally, you can trim anything that’s hanging over your property line, especially if it’s affecting your usage of the walkway. Just be cautious and maybe let her know after you do it, so she isn't surprised.

Exactly! Just make sure to keep it to the edges. If you’re worried, maybe you could mention it before trimming.

It's always best to have a chat with your neighbor first! It can help avoid any potential conflicts. Maybe you can work something out together to keep the area neat.

Totally agree! A friendly conversation can go a long way, especially since you just moved in.
