Hey everyone! I have a quick question about my gardening routine. I'm in zone 9, and during this time of year, it gets pretty chilly in the mornings, sometimes dipping below 40°F, but then it climbs to the 70s and 80s by the afternoon. I'm wondering if it's harmful to water my plants, like wildflowers, lilies, tulips, and strawberries, at sunrise when it's cooler. Should I wait until it's warmer in the afternoon? Thanks a lot for any advice as I'm new to gardening here!

Morning watering is best for allowing the soil to absorb moisture before the heat of the day kicks in. If it’s not freezing, go ahead and water your flowers. As long as there's no direct scorching sun on them right after, they should be just fine!
Watering in the morning is actually a good practice! When it’s cooler, there's less evaporation, so your plants can really soak up the water effectively. Just remember, if it’s not below freezing, you’ll be fine watering in the morning. It helps the water get deep into the soil where it’s needed.
Definitely try to avoid watering in the afternoon because of evaporation and also the risk of fungal issues at night. Your plants adapt to morning watering just like when it rains. So I’d say go for it!
I agree! I noticed I had fewer problems with pests like slugs when watering in the morning too.
