Hey everyone! I currently have a 3.2 kW solar panel system paired with a Victron EasySolar 3 kW inverter. I'm considering adding another 1.6 kW of panels because I've noticed that on cloudy days, 3 kW just doesn't cut it for my energy needs. However, I'd like to know if I can add these additional panels without having to swap out my inverter since it handles more than enough power when the sun is shining bright. Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks!

Gotcha! It sounds like you've got options. Just make sure to check the max solar input your inverter can handle (I think up to 4 kW is usually okay). If you can't connect them directly to your inverter, another option is to grab a separate Victron MPPT charger for the additional panels, hook that up to your batteries, and you're good to go!
First off, do you have batteries in your system or are you just exporting power directly? If you have batteries, adding a second charge controller could be a solution for your additional panels. That way, you can keep your current inverter and still gain extra capacity!
It's hard to say for sure without knowing your inverter's specifics and your current panel configuration. Many Victron EasySolar models come with multiple MPPTs, so it's quite possible that you could easily add more panels without an issue. Just double-check your inverter specs and see what you can do!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely check the specs to see what I can do. I appreciate your help!
