I'm about to start a renovation on my master bathroom and I'm curious if I can still sleep in my bedroom during the process. I want to know how it typically goes for others. Is it manageable to stay in the bedroom while construction is happening, or will the dust and chaos make it uninhabitable? Do many people end up renting a place to stay, or do they simply move their bed and clothes out entirely? I'm also wondering about practical measures—like covering my bed with tarps or needing to hire someone to clean out the air ducts after the dust settles. How does everyone else handle these situations?

I feel you! We just renovated our bathroom, and although we slept in our bedroom, it was a challenge. We covered our bed with plastic each day, which helped a lot. It wasn’t ideal, but we had to stick it out. If it gets too noisy or dusty, you might really want to consider a temporary change of scenery.
It really depends on how extensive your renovation is. If there's a lot of demolition, it's probably best to move out of the room entirely since there will be a ton of dust. Make sure to seal off the air vents to minimize dust spread. Consider sleeping in a spare room or even the living room when things get messy.
Yeah, it can get pretty chaotic! We covered the floors and sealed off everything during ours, but it was still a mess. You might want to set up a little sleeping area somewhere else.
From my experience, it’s doable but definitely not pleasant. We managed to sleep in our room while they worked, but we ended up moving some essentials to a different part of the house, which helped. I'd recommend doing as much cleanup as you can at the end of each day. Good luck with your reno!
Thanks! I’ll definitely keep cleaning in mind. Just trying to make the process as smooth as possible.
That sounds like a lot! How did you manage to keep everything from getting too messed up?
