Is It Possible to Split Up Tool Bundles at Home Depot?

Hey everyone! I'm new here and I just picked up my first Milwaukee M18 bundle from Home Depot. Looks like I might be hooked, as I'm considering my next purchase. I've heard some folks talk about buying tool bundles and then returning the pieces they don't want. Is that actually a thing? How does it work?

Yeah, you can definitely do that! When you buy a bare tool and get a free item like a battery, the receipt will usually break it down. For example, if you buy an M18 Fuel impact wrench that costs $200, and you choose a free 8.0 HO battery valued at $90, you can return the battery and get around $90 back. So, you're essentially only paying $110 for the impact wrench, which is pretty sweet! Just keep in mind that this works mainly when the receipt details the individual prices; it won't work with combo kits or bundles that don't itemize each tool.

Not really, if you're looking at something like the grinders on the site, it probably won't work since they don’t typically itemize those in the cart. You'll need those individual prices on the receipt for this trick to work!

What you're talking about sounds like the 'buy more, save more' hack. Basically, if you spend a certain amount, like $1000, you can save a good chunk of that (40% off qualifying items). Say you buy multiple tools to hit that mark, you can keep one tool at that discount and then return the extras. It's a clever way to maximize savings!
