You can actually place some types of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) directly over tile. Just check the specifications for the vinyl you're considering since they usually indicate the maximum size of the grout lines allowed. That might save you some effort!
I'm a bit worried about that because I think the door won't clear the new floor height. Is there a way to handle that? Maybe I could cut the door or something. We're buying the place and about to move in.
