Is it really that bad to hire a plumber for a toilet seat installation?

So, my toilet seat broke, and I bought a new one that's supposed to be easy to install. My boyfriend tried to put it on but couldn't figure it out, and honestly, I just don't have the patience for it. I usually handle DIY stuff, but I'm kind of a germ-a-phobe and prefer to leave toilets alone. Would it be totally shameful to call a plumber to do this for me? I mean, it seems like such a simple task!

Look, it's pretty easy to install a toilet seat, like changing a lightbulb! You just need to lift the caps, unscrew the bolts, and you're done. If you really don't want to do it yourself, consider asking a friend or neighbor instead of splurging on a plumber. They'll probably charge way less and it'll be a quick fix!

Yeah, exactly! You could even offer them a few bucks for their time!

Honestly, calling a plumber for this is a bit overkill. Installing a toilet seat is super simple—there are just two plastic bolts. It shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes, especially with instructions that usually come with the seat. And if you're worried about germs, just use rubber gloves! You might want to give it a shot with your boyfriend helping; it could be a fun team effort!

I really appreciate the tips! I guess I'm just anxious about touching it.

It's totally your call how you spend your money, but hiring a plumber for something so simple might seem a bit excessive. I mean, it's not like there's any plumbing involved! Just take a couple of minutes to watch a quick tutorial; you might surprise yourself and get it done easily!

True! It could be a fun little project. Plus, then you'd know how to do it next time!
