Is it Safe to Drill Into This Beam for My Tent?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to hang my 30-pound tent from the wooden beam in my garage using two heavy-duty hooks on each end. I used a stud finder and it looks like there's some solid wood underneath. Do you think this setup would be safe? Thanks for your help! Check out this link to see a picture: https://imgur.com/a/uY4kdoB

It looks like you might have a glu-lam or laminated veneer lumber beam there. Those are designed to handle loads pretty well! Just keep in mind that while your tent should be fine, some builders use thinner beams to cut costs, so just be cautious. But I think you'll be okay!

If that beam is made of wood, using two hooks to support a 30-pound tent shouldn't be an issue at all! Just make sure the hooks are securely installed.

Yes, it is. Thanks for the reassurance!
