I recently bought a house that has a mosquito misting system already installed, and I'm growing some herbs like rosemary and sage nearby. I obviously wash the herbs thoroughly before using them, but I'm concerned about whether it's safe to consume them considering the active ingredient in the spray is Permethrin. We typically buy organic produce, and I also have a 2-year-old, so I want to ensure we're being safe.

Honestly, I'd recommend unplugging that mosquito system and using mosquito buckets with bacteria that target larvae instead. You're probably exposing your little one to harmful chemicals and also wiping out beneficial insects in the process.
The EPA says Permethrin is safe, but I’d still be wary about spraying it around the house and on your food regularly. It might be better to play it safe and look for alternatives.
That’s great that the EPA says it’s safe, but it seems like they’re not considering how this could build up over time. Sounds risky to me!
But is there any real proof that it’s harming your child? I mean, he’s not outside while it's spraying, right?
