I'm looking to install a 24-inch towel rack in my bathroom, but when I checked with a stud finder, it seems I'll only have a stud on one side. I'm wondering if it's a bad idea to go ahead with the installation or if it will still be stable enough. I plan to hang three towels and possibly store a few more on the rack. Any advice would be appreciated!

Having only one stud is totally fine for a towel rack! Just make sure to use a good wall anchor on the other side. Most towel racks are actually hung with just one stud and a wall anchor anyway, so you should be good to go!
You're in luck! For a towel rack, you can technically get away with just wall anchors without a stud. But if you want extra sturdiness, consider using toggle bolts, as they spread the weight more effectively. Just make sure to avoid the cheap plastic anchors that come with the rack; they often fail over time.
Right! Plus, if your wall is open, adding a piece of wood between the studs can give you a solid base to mount the rack.
Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit overkill? It’s just a towel rack! Seriously, as long as you use decent wall anchors, you’ll be fine. All this talk of adding support seems unnecessary unless you're hanging 20-pound towels or planning to use it like a gym bar! ?
Haha, right? Just make sure it’s mounted properly and enjoy some towels! But yeah, if you have kids or plan to hang it in a busy bathroom, I’d try to secure it really well.

Exactly! Just ensure the wall anchor is strong, and it should work well. Unless you’re planning to use the towel bar as a pull-up bar, which I wouldn’t recommend! ?
