Is it safe to install my coffee maker shelf above the radiator?

I'm considering putting a wooden shelf to hold my coffee maker right above the radiator in my kitchen. The shelf is about a quarter inch thick, and I estimate the coffeemaker will be positioned around 6 to 12 inches above the radiator. My main concern is whether the heat from the radiator could affect the electronics of the coffee maker.

I’d say steam might be the bigger concern. Just make sure the steam isn’t blowing directly onto the coffee maker and you should be fine.

Haha, don’t worry, the steam is definitely staying in the radiator!

It sounds manageable! Coffee makers can get warm themselves, so being a foot away from the radiator shouldn't push it into a dangerous range. However, that quarter-inch thickness for the shelf does seem a bit on the flimsy side.

True! I'm just estimating here, but I checked and it's rated to hold about 40 lbs, so that helps.

Check the depth of the shelf, too! If the coffee maker is set back a bit and not facing warm, humid air directly, it should absorb the heat fine.

I think it has about an inch of clearance, maybe a bit less.
