Hey everyone, I've got a bit of a concern about mounting my TV. There's an outlet about a foot off the floor on the stud I want to use. I've heard that the wiring typically runs alongside the stud instead of straight through it. Is it safe to go ahead and mount my TV in this spot or should I look for a different location? I really want to do this right, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'd say mount it without worry. The design typically keeps wiring alongside the stud, so it's not very common to have wiring directly through where you'll screw in the mount. Just be cautious and double-check where you're drilling!
Mounting your TV on that stud actually gives you some perks! If you need power behind the TV, you could consider adding a media hookup or even splice into the outlet directly. Just make sure everything's secure and you're following local code!
You should be good to mount it there! Typically, the wiring for outlets runs up the side of the studs, not through the middle. Just to play it safe, use a stud finder equipped with an electrical sensor to ensure there are no hidden wires in your mounting area. Better to be safe than sorry!
