Is It Safe to Plant in Zone 5b Before Mother’s Day?

I'm feeling a bit eager to get my garden started, especially since there's no frost in the forecast right now. I'm not rushing to plant anything super delicate like dahlias, but I'm curious about what everyone else thinks. Is it generally safe to start planting now, or are you all waiting until after Mother's Day?

You can definitely start planting a few things right now! Just keep an eye on the weather and be ready to cover them if frost is predicted. Better safe than sorry!

I'm also in zone 5b and waiting until around May 1st. It’s tough because my tomatoes are getting pretty big, but the forecast shows lows around 40 degrees, and they won't like that at all. If you’re unsure about frost, better to hold off a bit longer!

I wasn't thinking about how cold it could still get! I guess I'm just running out of room inside now!

I'm personally holding off. It's still too early to know how cold it might get, and I wouldn't want to risk losing my hard work!

Yeah, that makes total sense!
