Is It Safe to Sealcoat My Driveway with Cooler Overnight Temps?

I recently patched my driveway and I'm planning to sealcoat it tomorrow (Saturday). However, the overnight temperatures are dropping below 60°F, which is concerning since I'm using Sealbest 800 from Menards that advises against application below this temperature. The forecast shows a low of 57°F after 2 AM, lasting until sunrise. While it's expected to warm up to around 70°F during the day, I'm torn between getting this done now or waiting until Labor Day when overnight lows are more favorable. The issue is that I need to paint my house that weekend, so I can't have the driveway drying at the same time. What do you think? The general advice seems to suggest applying at 50 or 55°F and rising, but I really want to stick to the manufacturer's guidance. Any thoughts?

Go for it! The conditions seem good enough, especially since you'll have a warm day ahead to help it cure.

Honestly, I think you'll be fine to sealcoat your driveway. Just keep in mind the manufacturer's instructions for safety. If it warms up nicely afterward, you should be good to go!

That's what I was thinking too. I won't plan on a second coat until it's warmer, but the weather has been unpredictable lately. Just hoping it doesn't drop too much more!

From my experience, don’t worry too much. I've been sealcoating for 40 years, and they usually set that guideline to prevent issues when temperatures are close to freezing, not low 60s. Just keep an eye on the conditions.
