I've recently set up some grow lights for my cacti, and they're positioned right next to my desk where I spend a lot of time working. I'm wondering if it's safe to be this close to them. I've heard they can be harmful to your eyes and skin, but since they're facing away from me and I'm about 2 feet away, I'm not sure if I need to be worried.

You're totally fine sitting near grow lights! They're not going to give you skin cancer or anything serious as long as you're not staring directly at them. Just keep your eyes off the light source and you should be good to go!
Grow lights are really just regular LEDs arranged to provide a full spectrum of light for plants. While some might have lenses to focus the light, they aren't special in a harmful way. It's best not to look directly at them, just like you shouldn’t stare at regular light bulbs. Also, even UV grow lights emit way less UV than the sun, so honestly, you're at a higher risk from sunlight than from these lights.
Thank you, good to hear. Loving cacti while living in Canada sucks lol
Great, thanks!
