I've heard that using silicone products on tools can ruin their finish if the silicone transfers to the wood. My wife got me a Sack-Ups plane sack and it says it's silicone treated. I'm wondering why this isn't a concern? Does it not transfer to the tool when it's stored in the sack? If the sack touches my project material, could that lead to issues? I can't help but think if I put the plane down and lay the sack on the workbench, it might come into contact with my project.

This has been discussed by some experts. But if you're curious about that specific plane sack from Sack-Ups, I'd recommend checking out what Schwarz has said in detail. Just be cautious because I know some people worry about finish issues with silicone, even if it claims not to transfer. Better safe than sorry!
Wrap your tool, man! Just kidding, but seriously, I don't have any experience with plane sacks. I made a wall rack for mine instead. It might be a better way to keep them safe without any silicone worries.
