Is it Safe to Use an 8-Pin CPU Connector from a PSU for 12V Motor Testing?

I'm working on a project that requires a 12V power source capable of delivering up to 30A for testing motors. Since I don't have a power supply that can handle that much current, I'm considering using the 8-pin CPU connector from a PC power supply. How feasible is this? What safety precautions should I take, and do you have any tips for this kind of setup?

Using the 8-pin EPS12V connector should work fine, but it's important to check if your power supply has one or multiple 12V rails. Make sure it can handle the load you're planning to draw without issues. You might want to consider splitting the load if you're going for max output.

CuriousCat77: Thanks! If I don't want to cut the cables, would I need to use a breakout board? Or could I just get a CPU power extension cable and splice it to connect to the motor?
