I'm wondering if it's possible to cut wood using an M12 right angle die grinder fitted with a 2-inch cut-off wheel. Has anyone tried this, and what should I be careful about?

I've had my fair share of risky tool moments, but even back in my wild teenage days, I wouldn't have used a toothed wheel on a grinder. I think they do have those special chainsaw blades designed for grinders now though—my stepdad used one for wood carving, so that's possibly a safer option.
Yeah, you can technically make cuts with that setup, but expect some issues. It might stall a bit, and you'll likely notice it overheating, which could even lead to a fire hazard! Plus, it’ll drain the battery pretty quickly. It’s doable, but not ideal at all.
Most likely, but I'd hesitate to say it's safe. The M12 grinder runs at much higher RPMs than what wood blades are designed for. I've pulled off some risky jobs in the past, but I'd really suggest using the right tool for cutting wood instead of improvising with a grinder.

Yeah, I saw those chainsaw blades for grinders too! They're pretty handy for wood carving, but just keep safety in mind.
