Hey everyone! I'm in Oklahoma, and this Saturday morning it's expected to be around 75 degrees at 7 AM and possibly 85 by 11 AM. I need to recaulk my furnace vent and storm collar since there's been some leaking during heavy rains. I'm a bit worried about damaging my shingles since it's summer. Is it okay to walk on the roof when the temperature is between 75 and 80 degrees? I should be able to wrap everything up in about an hour and won't need to go back up again this season. Also, the roof has a bit of pitch but is walkable.

Honestly, people walk on shingle roofs even when it’s over 100 degrees outside, so 75-80 should be perfectly fine. Just make sure to keep an eye on the shingles while you're working. They'll be okay!
I just got off my roof, and it was 81 degrees. I was a bit sweaty, but the roof handled it just fine. Definitely wear gloves though; the shingles can get hot once the sun starts shining on them!
Walking on the roof in the morning should be no issue, especially before the sun gets too high. Just a heads-up, if it gets really hot, you might scuff the granules off the shingles, so it’s best to do your work early. Plus, it will be cooler and easier to handle!
Appreciate the advice! I’ll plan to get up there before dawn.

Good tip about the gloves! I didn’t think about how hot they could get.
