I've got a bit of a situation with my lawn—half of it is brown and the other half got scorched by the recent heatwave, leaving just dirt. Is it too late to reseed, or can I still manage to get some green grass before the temperatures drop?

It's definitely not too late to reseed! In fact, autumn is a great time for it. Grass grows pretty fast, so you could see some results before winter hits. Make sure to clear out any dead grass with a dethatching rake; that’ll help the new seed thrive. Remember to use about three times more seed than you think you'll need, and keep it moist until it sprouts. You've got this!
I wouldn't say it's too late—maybe a bit early, actually! Ideally, you want to reseed in spring or fall when conditions are good. With the dry weather now, watering will be crucial unless we get some rain soon. Mid-September looks promising for rain, so aiming for then could work. Just remember to cover your seeds with compost and water them regularly!
September is prime time for reseeding your lawn! With weeds dying off, your grass seeds won’t have as much competition, plus the chance of rain is higher, which means less hassle with watering. I scarified my lawn last year, seeded it, and by November, it was lush and green. Definitely go for it!
