Is it time to give up on my seeds?

I started some seeds for tomatoes, bell peppers, thyme, and rosemary at the beginning of the month, but it's now been 17 days and I haven't seen any growth. A few days ago, I moved them to a warmer spot in my house because I heard that might help, but I'm worried I might need to just throw in the towel. I've been watering them twice a day with a misting bottle and using soil marketed for starting seeds. Google says they should sprout in 5-10 days, so I'm feeling quite discouraged. Any advice on whether I should keep waiting or just give up?

Check if your seeds need heat! Tomatoes thrive around 70°F and peppers closer to 80°F, so if your place is cooler, consider getting a heat mat. Also, I've had success with rosemary and thyme from cuttings instead of seeds since they can be really tricky to start!

It sounds like you're watering a bit too much! Instead of misting them, try soaking the entire container to ensure the soil stays moist but not waterlogged. This might help with germination!
