I'm getting ready to clear out my squash and zucchini from my two 4x10 raised beds since they're starting to crowd my other summer plants. I was thinking about growing pumpkins for fall, but I've never done it before. Can I successfully grow pumpkins in my raised beds if there's a few feet of space left? Or do they need more room? Thanks for any tips!

It might be a bit late for pumpkins this year. They require quite a bit of time to grow, and mine are only just starting to develop female flowers now. If pollinated, the pumpkins would take until September or so to mature. So if you're aiming for a fall harvest, you may want to consider waiting until next year!
The timing also depends on your USDA zone, but overall, it might be a little late to start pumpkins. However, if you're looking for something to plant now, kale, carrots, or herbs would be great options!

Oh, got it! After some thought, I think they’d probably need more space anyway, haha. Maybe I'll try again next year!
