I recently had my kitchen remodeled, and my contractors say it's common for a gas stove to stick out about two inches from the countertops. However, I think it looks off and I'm not sure if that's really standard. Is this a typical situation, or should I be concerned?

Yeah, it’s actually pretty normal for stoves to stick out a bit! Most ranges tend to have that extra clearance for various reasons, including ventilation. But if it feels way off, it might be worth checking with your builder.
In some cases, the specifics can vary depending on the stove model and the countertop design. My range sticks out about the same, and it’s been fine. I had a similar issue with mine where it didn't align because of how the brackets were fixed. Just keep an eye on how it's installed!

Totally agree! A bit of overhang is typical, but definitely trust your instincts. If it really bugs you, a second opinion from a different contractor could help.
