I really enjoy using my Forrest TS blade, but sending it back to the factory in Canada for resharpening feels like a hassle and can get pricey. Do I actually need to have Forrest do the resharpening, or is there something special they do that a good local shop can't? Also, if anyone on the West Coast of Canada knows of a skilled local sharpening service, I'd love to hear about it!

You definitely don't have to send it to Forrest. Any reliable local sharpening service can do the job just as well! Plus, if you need another blade, check out FS Tool for a solid Canadian alternative.
If you're in a larger city, you might find a sharpening service that does weekly pickups and drop-offs for dulled blades. That's super convenient!
From my experience, Forrest charged me around $32 for my last resharpening. If you can find a good local place and confirm they're reliable, you can save some money by dropping it off and picking it up later. Good luck!
I actually met a great guy nearby who sharpens blades for just 40 cents a tooth. If anyone in Philly wants his info, let me know—he’s really good!
If you've got a local guy who sharpens blades, stick with him! There's nothing magical about what Forrest does that a competent local shop can't handle.
Shipping to and from Canada can really add up, for sure!
