I'm wondering what folks think about the idea of killing weeds that come up through the weed barrier and then using a torch to deal with them. Is this a smart time-saving tactic, or just a dumb idea? I'd love to hear different opinions on this!

Honestly, I find burning plastic super unpleasant and not great for your health or the environment. Plus, I can’t imagine it’s effective if the barrier gets damaged in the process. I'd recommend considering other options for weed control instead.
I've had a lot of issues with weed barrier myself. It was supposed to make things easier, but it just ended up being a pain when I wanted to add more plants or manage weeds. I’m seriously thinking about ripping it all out and starting over. Have you thought about alternative solutions?
For some weed barriers, torching them could be tricky since they might melt instead of burning away. And while it’s fun to torch things, I found it doesn't always work as well as you'd hope. Maybe look into other weed-killing methods that won’t damage your barrier?

Seems like you’ve really struggled with it! It’s good to hear I’m not alone in this mess.
