Is Milwaukee Working on a Domino Joiner After Festool’s Patent Expired?

Last year, the patent for the Festool domino joiner expired, and I'm curious if anyone has heard if Milwaukee is developing their own version. Given how well Milwaukee tackled the track saw issue after its patent expired, I would definitely prefer waiting for their take on the domino joiner!

I get what you're saying, but if Festool's patent was really expired, you'd think other brands would jump in immediately, right? Still, I don’t think that’s the case just yet.

That’s not really how it works. When Festool's track saw patent expired, it took several years for other brands to offer similar products. It's a process, for sure.

I doubt anyone here has inside knowledge from Milwaukee directly. If they did, they wouldn’t share that info anyway.

Actually, I've heard there are Milwaukee reps in forums like this, and they do occasionally mention tools in development.

I'd snag a Milwaukee domino joiner in no time! Honestly, I wouldn't care if it was M12 or M18; I just want one!

I think a lot of tool companies are probably working on their versions. From what I've heard, while the main patents have expired, there are still some nuances and new patents out there that will delay true clones for a bit. We might need to wait a couple more years before we see them hit the market.
