Is Milwaukee’s Brushless Tool Line the Same as FUEL?

Hey everyone! I'm an older guy transitioning to Milwaukee tools, particularly looking into their 12V range like many of you pros use. My hands aren't in great shape from years of using heavy tools, so I'm keen on something lighter. I noticed that some of the tools don't have 'FUEL' on the boxes but are labeled as brushless. Can anyone tell me if brushless means it's still part of the FUEL line? I'm on the hunt for the best options like a planer, small circular saw, or maybe a sawzall. Any advice would be super helpful!

Milwaukee has a variety of tool lines, including brushed, brushless, Surge, and FUEL. In short, FUEL is their top-tier range, which is the most powerful and efficient. Brushless tools that aren’t marked as FUEL are still pretty good, but they won’t offer the same performance as FUEL tools. Just a heads-up, some models, like the M12 planer, might only come as brushless and not labeled FUEL. Still, I’d say they’re worth checking out!

Just remember, Surge refers to their hydraulic impact tools and is still classified under FUEL. So even that is a good option!

Definitely go for the FUEL line if you’ll be using the tools regularly. They're a little pricier, but the performance makes it worthwhile, especially in the M12 lineup. I’m sure you’re going to love using them!
