Is Miracle-Gro Soil Really That Bad?

I've been using Miracle-Gro soil for my raised beds, but I'm really concerned about the taste of our dill—it's musty and tastes just like the soil smells. My boyfriend bought a bunch of this soil, and I feel like we should have gone for organic compost to avoid synthetic fertilizers, especially since the label mentions a polymer coating, which might mean there are microplastics involved. Plus, the compost could have pesticide residues from home pickups. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'd love a second opinion to help convince him that we should switch to organic!

Honestly, I've found that Miracle-Gro soil isn't the best. It's not just about the microplastics—it's the entire industrial process that doesn't age the soil properly before packaging. I've had issues with microplastics in my own compost too, but the veggies I've grown taste fine. Maybe consider using a mix, or if you can stick it out with what you have this year, just keep an eye on how the plants do?

Thanks for the info! I'm thinking of giving it another shot since switching soil right now sounds pricey.
