Is Mixing Rooting Powder with Mycorrhizal Inoculant Beneficial for Plants?

I'm curious about the effects of mixing rooting powder (Indole-3-Butyric Acid) with mycorrhizal inoculant. Are they effective together, or is it better to use them separately? Do they serve different purposes for plant growth?

I usually mix mycorrhizae and my rooting hormone, and it’s worked out for me. When roots start developing, they seem to benefit from having the mycorrhizae ready to go. Just be cautious and don’t overload on the rooting powder, as it might slow root growth at higher concentrations.

That’s interesting! Did you notice any specific improvements in root growth or plant health with this combo?

These two have different roles in plant development. Rooting hormone like IBA helps convert non-rooting tissue into roots, which is great for cuttings. However, if you use it in high amounts, it can damage existing roots. On the other hand, mycorrhizae are beneficial fungi that form a symbiotic relationship with plants, helping them absorb nutrients and water. Mixing them won't necessarily harm your plants, but it's best to use IBA primarily for cuttings and let mycorrhizae work their magic in the soil.
